We named our organization Normal People Like You to emphasize that children with disabilities are in no way "not normal." It is very common and stereotypical for people to label a child with a disability as different; however, we at NPLY believe that everyone is different. Everyone has their unique qualities as an individual; therefore, it is wrong to label anyone as not normal.

Normal People Like You was created to provide knowledge about both mental and physical developmental disabilities, giving a strong message about respect, equality and support to people with these conditions.​
